Emergency Planning

Bioterrorism happens when a virus, bacteria, or other germ is used as a weapon to make people, plants, or animals sick. The Public Health Preparedness Program works to prepare Pinellas County for a large scale public health emergency.

The Cities Readiness Initiative (CRI) is a grant program that provides resources to plan for an emergency. In the event of a large scale public health emergency, we would coordinate with our federal partners to access the Strategic National Stockpile to assist Pinellas County in addressing community needs.
