It can be hard for men to take on the role of a dad, especially if they didn’t have great role models growing up. For some, if they had absent or tough relationships with their fathers, there may not have been anyone to show them how to be the kind of dad they want to be. This can make it harder to navigate the challenges of fatherhood.
That’s where the Gold Medal Dads program comes in! Healthy Families’ Father Services is here to help dads with kids from birth to age 17. We give them the support and tools they need to become the awesome, involved dads they want to be. The program offers case management, parenting education, support groups, and referrals for things like jobs and other helpful community services.
The goal is to help dads stay connected with their kids because when there’s a father or father figure in the home, kids are less likely to face abuse or neglect and are more likely to do well in school and life.
