April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month

April 10, 2023

Every child deserves a safe, nurturing place to call home. To draw attention to this need, April has been designated National Child Abuse Prevention Month.

Through programs such as the Healthy Babies Initiative (https://pinellas.floridahealth.gov/programs-and-services/wellness-programs/index.html) and our Healthy Start/Healthy Families program (https://pinellas.floridahealth.gov/programs-and-services/clinical-and-nutrition-services/maternal-child-health/index.html), we are coordinating with local and statewide partner agencies to improve the health and well-being of all Floridians, especially the youngest ones.

If you suspect that a child is being abused or neglected, please call the Florida Child Abuse Hotline (https://www.myflfamilies.com/services/abuse/abuse-hotline) at 800-96-ABUSE (800-962-2873).
