St. Petersburg, FL–Making sure your children are ready for the upcoming school year can be overwhelming. Shots, physicals, haircuts, new school supplies and swag. Ok, we get it; there’s not much time left to prepare before Pinellas County Schools are back in session (Aug. 10). The Florida Department of Health in Pinellas County (DOH-Pinellas), along with many community partners, is hosting a Back to School Health and Community event on Friday, Aug. 4 and Saturday, Aug. 5 at Azalea Middle School, 7855 22nd Ave. N., St. Petersburg, FL.

On Friday, Aug. 4, the following health services will be provided at no-cost from 9 AM to 5 PM:

• immunizations

• eye and hearing exams

• school and sports physicals

Parents are asked to bring their child’s most current shot records and register by 2 PM on Friday to be seen for health services.

On Saturday, Aug. 5, the following health services will be provided at no-cost from 9 AM to 2 PM:

• immunizations

• eye and hearing exams

• school and sports physicals

Parents are asked to bring their child’s most current shot records and register by noon on Saturday to be seen for health services.

Friday’s event will provide health services while Saturday’s event will offer perks such as school supplies giveaways, food and entertainment, haircuts (while limited supplies last), information and resources provided at no-cost to attending children.

Partners include Preserve Vision Florida, Pinellas County Human Services, Pinellas County Schools, Opti-Mart, and many more. Community organizations will be on-site for families to explore the many resources they have available to them.

Don’t miss this last chance to get all your back-to-school errands done at once and have a little fun doing it. For more information about the DOH-Pinellas event on Aug. 4 & 5, call 727-824-6911 or visit www.PinellasHealth.com/Events.
