DOH-Pinellas Director Dr. Ulyee Choe and Clearwater Mayor George Cretekos will dedicate the new area. Ed C. Wright Park is located at 1326 S. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Ave., Clearwater.

Fitness Zones are recreation areas with outdoor, people-powered exercise equipment available during park hours at no cost. Some of the equipment is handicapped-accessible; they are located in parks throughout Pinellas. For locations, go to https://pinellas.floridahealth.gov/programs-and-services/wellness-programs/health-promo-school-health/_documents/pinellas-county-recreation-centers-and-fitness-zones.pdf.

The DOH-Pinellas Partnerships to Improve Community Health (PICH) grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention funds physical fitness projects and healthy eating initiatives to create a healthier county.

Other PICH projects include bottle-refilling stations, park wayfinding signs and the Fun Bites initiative that adds healthy snacks at youth sports concession stands.
