Parents must be present during the physicals and must bring the child’s immunization record. Physicals are only available to students enrolled in kindergarten and grades above. A new vaccination requirement is students from kindergarten-grade 8 must now have received two doses of varicella (chickenpox) vaccine for the upcoming school year.

“Early and mid-summer are the best times to schedule an appointment before the long lines form closer to the start of the school year,” said Dr. Ulyee Choe, Director of DOH-Pinellas. “By getting immunizations now, not only are parents saving time, they are also preventing missed work or school potentially caused by the serious effects of vaccine-preventable diseases.”

Appointments are advised and available by calling 727-824-6900 and selecting menu option 4.
