No-Cost STD Testing at Five DOH-Pinellas Centers on April 25
April 25, 2018 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM |
April is observed as Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) Awareness Month, a time to remind the community about the importance of testing for and treating diseases such as syphilis, chlamydia and gonorrhea. Educating sexually-active people about the risks of unprotected sex and the symptoms of STDs is part of public health’s core mission.
The Florida Department of Health in Pinellas County (DOH-Pinellas) has STD clinics and programs for confidential testing and treatment at five of its health department locations. Those who are tested may choose to have their results sent via a text message.
To encourage more people to be tested and treated, DOH-Pinellas will offer no-cost STD tests on Wednesday, April 25. Hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM at these locations:
- Tarpon Springs: 301 S. Disston Ave.
- Clearwater: 310 N. Myrtle Ave.
- Mid-County: 8751 Ulmerton Rd., Largo
- Pinellas Park: 6350 76th Ave. N.
- St. Petersburg: 205 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. St. N.
